What Can You Get for Twenty-five Bucks?

Twenty-five bucks does not go very far in today’s fast paced world! But what if you could chose instead to spend $25 ($20 for BFF under 25 pounds) on your very best friend – you know the one… that little funny face who waits patiently for you to return each and every day with a smile and a wag… no matter what kind of day you have had?  Yes your pet, your BFF!  You could spend that $25 on a marvelous day at a doggie care facility where your BFF would meet and greet his best friends and playmates, access the spa, eat homemade al natural “bonbon” treats, watch movies, listen to classical music and generally have a tail wagging kind of day.  What do you think – worth the money? You bet and here are some of the reasons why:

  • Socialization: Dogs are pack animals by nature, but rarely get to be around a ‘pack’ in today’s world. Dog day care allows them to socialize and play with other dogs in a way that is much more natural for them.
  • Contributes to a healthy active life: A good dog day care will offer many activities for your canine friend so that your dog will be stronger and more fit than if it were left “home alone” five days out of seven. Don’t we all benefit from a healthy life style with a routine exercise program?
  • Increases dog’s sense of well- being: It makes your dog just plain happy to be in a stimulating environment, playing with other dogs and people. (pictures)

If you are considering a day care for your dog, here are some of the things you will want to look for when choosing a facility:

  • cleanliness,
  • experienced owners and staff,
  • staff members are with dogs at all times,
  • tours of the facility are offered to potential clients,
  • good relationship with local vets and vet techs on staff
  • procedures in place for introducing a new dog to the “regulars”,
  • an outside recreational area with constant supervision for playgroups.

Seriously, doggie day care is good for your pet and for you. A happy, well-socialized dog is a joy to be around. Many owners comment on what a pleasure it is to pick up a relaxed, smiling tag-wagger at the end of the workday, rather than coming home to find 10 hours of pent-up canine energy awaiting them.
